It is produced from the bay tree, also known by the name bay laurel. And what is there to say - you can fall in love with it for its properties. Bay laurel is an evergreen tree that grows best in proximity to the Mediterranean Sea. It was from laurel that the Greeks wove laurel wreaths.
Essential oil from bay leaves is extracted by distilling the aforementioned laurel.
It is an ingredient and vitamin bomb: rich in flavonoids, pectin, vitamins A, B2, B3, B5, C, as well as folic acid and many valuable minerals (including iron, calcium, zinc, magnesium). It is characterized by a strong, definite herbal and spicy fragrance. In its composition it has gentle substances, so it is exceptionally well tolerated by the skin and does not irritate it.
