Oily skin or acne skin?
Contrary to appearances, having oily skin does not mean the same thing as having acne skin. However, it is an undeniable fact that both types have in common - abnormal sebaceous glands. Among the basic differences, however, even in this case, is that oily skin can occur without acne.
Acne skin, on the other hand, is characterized by pimples and inflammation.
Acne-prone skin is characterized by enlarged pores, pimples, pustules and blackheads. Unfortunately, its ailments do not end there.
Acne-prone skin, like oily skin, is shiny. This can be caused by hormonal activity, genetic predisposition, but also diet. Unfortunately, a side effect caused by excess sebum can be that the bacteria on the skin cause the formation of bothersome imperfections, the already mentioned inflammation in the form of painful pimples and pustules.
What to look for in cosmetics for acne skin?
For this specific care, it is worth looking for tea tree oil or hydrolat. Their bactericidal action effectively fights the action of anaerobic bacteria responsible for the formation of acne.
Salicylic acid, on the other hand, is an ingredient mainly used in acne preparations, as it has antibacterial and anti-inflammatory effects. It also clears blackheads and reduces seborrhea. Other ingredients that help fight acne are herbs, such as elderberry, purgative or chamomile, which have a cleansing effect on the skin.
And let's not forget oils, among which jojoba oil is worth mentioning.
Thanks to its structural similarity with sebum, it regulates the sebaceous glands without causing dry skin and oily skin.
