Dry skin

How to recognize dry skin?

Dry skin is generally quite thin.
Usually light or even pinkish in color. This has to do with the blood vessels shining through it.
Unfortunately, quite quickly it becomes rough, even dull, without luster, just gray.
It lacks softness and elasticity, which causes an unpleasant feeling of tightness, stiffness, tingling or itching. Thin lines that look like wrinkles, but are so-called dehydration lines, also often appear on it.
Above all, a characteristic feature is the high sensitivity of dry skin to adverse weather conditions, detergents and water.

Dry or dehydrated?

Dry skin, producing too little sebum, is deprived of natural lubrication. Dehydrated skin, on the other hand, suffers from too little water in the tissues.
While dehydration is a condition that can occur regardless of skin type, dry skin is one type of skin - along with normal, combination or oily skin.
So to deal with dehydration, all you need to do is increase your fluid intake and start using cosmetics that attract and bind water in the skin and epidermis.
To meet the needs of dry skin, you need to ensure that the skin is properly lubricated, so that water stops escaping from the skin. So look for ceramides, EFAs and squalane.

Moisturizing your skin is important no matter what type of skin you have. That's why it's a good idea to have something in your makeup bag that will take care of the proper hydration of our skin. However, let's not forget that the most important part of moisturizing is providing our body with the right amount of water from within.
