Essential oils have been known to mankind since antiquity.
As in the past, essential oils are considered a precious treasure today.
Currently, they are widely used in aromatherapy, taking advantage of their wide range of properties.
Wide because essential oils often have a relaxing, calming and even healing effect.
Some relieve symptoms of depression, others heal skin lesions, others have an analgesic effect, and others increase libido.
How to use them so that the therapy is safe and brings the best results?
Inhalations with essential oils
A few drops of essential oils are added to a bowl of hot water, inhaler or diffuser and simply inhale the soothing and healing scents.
Many ailments, including upper respiratory tract infections, can be quickly reduced in this way. However, when choosing an oil for inhalation, remember to make sure it is an essential oil and not a fragrance oil.
Essential oils are completely natural substances with specific healing or therapeutic properties. On the other hand, those called fragrance oils are simply a mixture of fragrances, including synthetic ones. They have no properties other than the smell itself, and they may not come into contact with our skin.
Bath with essential oils
Essential oils are different and some can and should not be applied directly to our skin. Therefore, for your own safety, use a simple rule when using them as an addition to aromatherapy baths.
Take a tablespoon of so-called base oil - it can be sweet almond oil, maybe olive oil or even grape seed oil - add a few drops of the essential oil of your choice to this base and then pour this mixture into a bathtub with warm water.
The base oil will protect you against skin irritation, but at the same time will add more caring power to such a bath. Your skin will be better moisturized and nourished, and the essential oil will work as intended.
